Patricia Kennedy Obituary

Patrica Lyne Kennedy was born in to the arms of Jesus on February 21, 2020 while under care at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado. She was surrounded in love by her children and in the thoughts and prayers many others.

Patricia “Patti” was born in 1942 on St. Patrick’s Day in Devil Lake, North Dakota to William “Tex” & Dolores “Dodo” Chelf. She was the younger sister of Ann Lenore and elder sister of Bonnie Jean.

Her long life of service as a military wife began when she married Marvin Lindberg on February 27, 1960 in North Dakota. Their life together took them many places including Germany where she quickly adapted to the culture and a love for coo-coo clocks. They also spent time in several states including Kentucky; Tennessee; Oklahoma and Texas. After Marvin retired from the Army, she opened a local café and grocery in Bethel, Minnesota. They relocated to Texas in 1986, but Patti remained a faithful Minnesota Vikings fan.

Patti had a love for baking and was diligent in keeping the family recipes alive. Family favorites included lefse and donuts. She would take extra care to bake up personal favorites as an expression of her love. She was gifted in arts and crafts, and had an appreciation for all kinds of music.

Patti also had a mind for business. She was often employed to run and support small businesses, like bakeries; heating and air conditioning; insurance agencies; and car dealerships. She also served as a City Secretary while living in Seven Points, Texas before her husband’s death in August 2007.

It was there in Seven Points (Cedar Creek Lake) she met and married her best friend, Thomas Kennedy, on August 5, 2013. In their time together, along with their beloved Pepe, they would spend weeks fishing at the gulf coast. They enjoyed visiting both local and out of state wineries. Traveling around in their RV, they would take time to visit family in Texas, Louisiana, Colorado, North Dakota and Minnesota. Patti loved and cared for Tom until his passing in December 2017.

Patti was generous in love and in her life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, grandpups and kittens. She is survived by her children: Lynette Chelf; Lonnie & Julie Lindberg; Lyle & LaDonna Lindberg; Cynthia & Tom Tatom; Neil Kennedy and Matthew Kennedy; her grandchildren: Kira & Eric Carlson (Spencer; Calvin; Lucy & Dante); Melisa Lindberg (Sky & Rayna); Eva Lindberg; Mikayla Findley and Andrew Findley; Jordan Lindberg and Dakota Lindberg; Jennifer & Marshall Heitzmann (Lexi & Gracie); Chloe Kennedy and Olivia Kennedy; her sister and brother-in-law, Ann & Ernie Gonzales; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank & Margie Kennedy; along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Burial services are scheduled for 3:15PM, Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
