Margaret Novak Obituary

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Margaret Mary Novak, age 58, of Broomfield CO, who passed away on September 11, 2022. Margaret survived by three children: Marie (Tyler), Ann, Monica (Diego), seven siblings, 26 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews, and one grandchild on the way. Margaret was preceded in death by her loving parents Samuel and Elizabeth Novak and her beloved friend Joanne.

Margaret was born on July 24, 1964, in Boulder, CO. She grew up Broomfield CO, with 7 siblings, John, Jeanie, Charles, Mary, Joseph, Kathleen, and Theresa. She graduated from Broomfield High School in 1983. After high school she joined the convent, serving God and working on the farm. In 1990 Margaret met Edward Trujillo in Medjugorje. Edward and Margaret married on October 26, 1991, and they were married for 10 years. Margaret gave birth to three beautiful girls, Marie (1992), Ann (1993) and Monica (1997). Margaret loved the simple things in life and treasured most of all the life of her three daughters.

One of Margaret’s greatest passions was serving people at their worst and providing hope and comfort during their darkest moments in life, which was also reflected in the hospice caregiving services she provided to individuals. Margaret spent over 35 years working in the cemetery and funeral industry and even started her own business in 1986-2003, Novak Monuments and Memorials. Margaret also served as a member on the National Monument Association, International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association, and was a member of the National Notary Association. Margaret preached that dignity and respect doesn’t stop after one has stopped living. She made it a priority to always provide that dignity and respect to every person she met.

Despite Margaret’s love for helping those who had lost a loved one, Margaret loved nothing more than her family and three girls. Margaret loved spending her mornings with a fishing pole in her hand in the surroundings of good company. She loved every minute outdoors and never missed an opportunity to capture the beauty of the world within her camera lens. During her younger years Margaret loved working on the local farm and working with heavy equipment. She loved to play softball, mountain climb and travel the world with her siblings. Each year in the month of October Margaret loved driving to Estes Park, CO with her daughters to listen to the Elk bugle, while spending the weekend observing the beauty Colorado has to offer. If there is one thing we all know about Margaret it was that her three daughters were her life. She never stopped talking about how very proud she was of her girls and their accomplishments that they had achieved.

Margaret impacted the lives of so many people and will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her daughters at (Marie Featherston, 6618 Green River Dr. Unit D, Highlands Ranch, CO, 80130. Contributions will be used to establish a bench in Estes Park, CO, in memory of Margaret Novak.
