Emilio Rivera Obituary

On Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, Emilio Luis Rivera, loving husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 45. Emilio was a hilarious, kind, sincere, and gentle soul. He was a doting father, charming husband, and a caring friend, who was loved by so many. The loss of Emilio has been felt by those all over the world, and even by those he had never met.

Emilio was born on November 8th, 1976, in Fort Knox, Kentucky, to David and Diann (Lambert) Rivera. He grew up in multiple places including Arkansas, Germany, Georgia, and a few places in Colorado. Emilio started dating the love of his life, Ginger, on February 21st, 1996, when he was just 19 and she was 16. Emilio proposed to Ginger on their 3rd anniversary, February 21st, 1999. They were married on May 6th, 2001, surrounded by family and friends. They had two daughters together, Jaden, 21, and Isabella, 19. Emilio was there throughout all the years, and he was there for every little accomplishment for his family. If anyone were to be described as a family-man, it would have been Emilio. He was honorable, intelligent, supportive, dedicated, and vibrant. Emilio loved his family more than anything, he would do anything to protect them, and if he could, he would have protected them from this too. Emilio was an avid Denver Broncos fan, he would either watch the games with his family, or his buddy Bryan. He loved watching the following series: The Lord of The Rings, The Hobbit, Star Wars, and others. Emilio enjoyed listening to various types of music. He had many other hobbies/interests that were important to him.

When Emilio found out that he was going to be a father for the first time, he began to throw himself into learning and studying. He was completely self-taught; he never went to school for telecommunications or anything within the tech industry. He did have mentors along the way that helped him to keep enhancing his skills, build his reputation, and create a name for himself within the industry. Emilio became a well sought-after person for his work. People knew that even if he didn’t know something, he would either work on it, or learn how to do it, in order to complete a task. He also did this in his everyday life.

Emilio was preceded in death by his father, David Arnold Rivera. He is survived by his loving wife Ginger, two daughters Jaden and Isabella, his mother Diann, brother Robert, and several other family members. Emilio was successful in everything he did, both personally and professionally. Many have described Emilio as the father and husband that everyone strives to be. He will be missed dearly, and his absence will be felt by all who knew him.
