Daniel Holowczenko Obituary

Daniel Holowczenko passed away unexpectedly,  yet peacefully on April 13, 2022 in Fort Collins Colorado. He was 56 years old.

Active in his community, and regardless of his disabilities, Daniel was always determined to get to where he wanted to go, no mater how difficult the task was going to be. He did this with little, to no assistance and rarely complained. He was a vibrant soul who always stood out.

He had a zest for life and a love for the outdoors, however he was always passionate about his cars. Weather it be a classic automobile, or a matchbox his love of cars was more of an obsession and a life long hobby of collecting. Over the years he had a wide variety of vehicles that he would tinker with, restore and resell. From the Plymouth fury to a Thunderbird, or candy apple red convertible. He got to experience them all. Outside of his car business, he was a collector of toy cars and participated in many toy shows, even up to his passing. He collected hot wheels and matchbox and had numerous large collections over the years. His oldest grandson Austin still has the collection they started when he was just 2 years old, he is now 20. Daniels obsession and passion for his cars was incredible. Each time we talked he would always ask me which matchbox or hot wheels I snagged or could get for him.

Outside of his love for cars, he had an unconditional love for his 2 children, Joshua & Jessica. Though we didn’t share the same passion for cars as he did, we did share in the love of the beautiful outdoors. He raised both of us in our adolescent years in Boulder Colorado. We spent a lot of time going up the canyon, scaling rocks and hiking, and playing in the river, there were so many places to explore in Colorado. It gave Joshua his passion for fishing and always being on the water. It gave Jessica an inner peace and appreciation for the beauty in it all. Daniel was an amazing father and will never know the true impact he had on our lives, and the lives of others.  If there is one thing he taught me, and taught me right, it was to sit at the dinner table together. Every meal we shared, we shared at the table together. I will never forget that. I love you Dad.

Daniel leaves behind many friends and family, including his Mother Magurite Newport and Father and Stepmother Boris & June Holowczenko, his 3 brothers Mikola, Greg & Stephen, he loved his brothers so much, more than they will ever know. He leaves behind his two children, Jessica Holowczenko-Knudson and Joshua Holowczenko and 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He will be forever missed.

Celebrations of Daniels life will be held Saturday June 11, 2pm at 7712 W. 11th St. Greeley, CO. We will also have a celebration of life in Lakeport NY in July 9th 1pm at 140 Larkin Ave. Canastota, NY.
