Brian Hogan Obituary

Brian Michael Hogan, 50, of Broomfield began a new journey on March 5, 2022.  He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2017, and from that point forward faced down incredible adversity with dignity and determination. Brian leaves behind his wife, Karrie, and their two amazing children, son Bode and daughter Madigan.

An avid golfer, Raider’s fan, beer enthusiast and smoker (big green egg), Brian will be remembered for his commitment to family, business ethics and acumen, dry sense of humor, and ability to obtain a deal on nearly everything he purchased. He served as an inspiration, role model, and mentor to many in all aspects of life. Brian was intent on making memories during his final months, enjoying a vacation to Mexico, a home Raider’s game, the Packers/Vikings game, ice fishing on Lake Minnetonka, a quick visit to Bode’s chosen college, countless lunches, happy hours and dinners with friends & colleagues, and Hamilton (the play).

He is survived by parents, Jerry and Lorene Hogan, sisters Denice (Shane McCool) Hogan and Cheryl (Bill) Myrick, nephews Austin, Mason, Aiden, and Cade, and many other friends and relatives. A lifelong Coloradan, Brian graduated from Northglenn High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Northern Colorado in 1994. He enjoyed a successful career in sales, spending 20 years with Stout Signs.

In lieu of a service, Brian chose to celebrate his life with friends and family on December 29 at the More Cheers, Less Tears, Over Beers, an “awake wake.” The family would like to thank Dr. Tara Gregory and her team at the Colorado Blood Cancer Institute (CBCI) for their support and compassion, and Denver Hospice.  Memorials are preferred to CBCI, Denver Hospice or by way of donating blood.
