Ann L. Szydlowski

Ann Szydlowski, 94, of Broomfield, Colorado, formerly of Chicago, IL, died peacefully in her sleep on June 11, 2021.

Born October 19, 1926, in Chicago, IL, she was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Eva Sipiora of Chicago, IL, her late husband of 59 years, Frank, her daughter-in-law, Laverne and her son-in-law Don Stark. In addition, she was predeceased by her sisters, Jean (Casey) Lata, Charlotte (Edwin) Oster, Dorothy and Phyllis (Eugene) Mikrut and her brothers Edward (Lucille), Joseph (Eleanor), Chester (Shirley), and Edmond (Joyce), as well as, her brother-in-law, Norman (Lynn) Szydlowski. She was the last of her generation in her family.

Ann was a longtime resident of Broomfield (55 years) where she was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish.  Three of her children graduated from Nativity and went on to attend Marycrest and Regis.   Education and faith were core tenants of her beliefs and her practice.  Ann was never too busy to spend quality time with her friends and family.  Whether it was working on a page in a coloring book, reading a Mickey Mouse book with a little one, having lunch with the "ladies" or traveling to fun locations, she was present.   

Survivors include her four children, Frank J. Szydlowski of St. Louis, MO, Arlene Olson (Mike) of Frederick, CO, Susan Stark of Westminster, CO and Bob (Michelle) Szydlowski of Broomfield, CO. She has also been blessed to have 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, as well as, many nieces and nephews and their families.  

A mass will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Broomfield, CO on July 9 at 10:30. A luncheon will follow the mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, you are invited to donate to the Disabled American Veterans Organization in her memory.
