Wanda Del Pizzo Obituary

Wanda Del Pizzo, 91 of Louisville, Colorado, passed away peacefully at her home of sixty years on March 13, 2018 after a short illness. She was born December 28, 1926 in Lakeview, South Dakota, the second child to John and MaryAnne Vandenbos. The family moved to Lafayette where she graduated from Lafayette High School. She married Albert Del Pizzo on July 13, 1946. Together they raised two sons. Wanda was a member of the Lady Elks (past president), an honorary lifetime member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority house, Louisville Bocci Club, and the St. Louis Catholic Church. Wanda loved nature, history, and trivia, but mostly she loved her family.

Wanda is survived by her sister Norma Ross, sisters-in-law Helen Degenhart, Lois Del Pizzo and Jean Vandenbos, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Albert, sons Dennis and Alan, and two brothers. She will be greatly missed!

Funeral service will be Tuesday March 20, 2018, at 10 AM at St. Louis Catholic Church. Fr. Don Willette will serve as the celebrant. Inurnment immediate following at Louisville Cemetery followed with a luncheon at the Elks. Donations may be made to the Louisville Historical Museum or the St. Louis Catholic Church.
