Marge died peacefully in TRU Community Care at Balfour Senior Living in Louisville, on September 30th, aged 92.
When asked in 2017, what the most important event during her life Mom responded, "landing on the Moon." Not the Depression, when she was in Elementary school, nor World War II which was fought as she worked at the Butcher and helped at the local USO. Not at 18, after years of voice lessons forgoing an opportunity to go with her teacher hired by The Met and a transfer offer to the SSA's new regional office in NYC for her computer job: to instead follow her heart to marry the soldier she'd met on leave and wrote to for 2 years, and to build a family life. The Moon Landing for her was epic because it fulfilled what she read about as a kid, the adventures of Buck Rogers and Jules Verne. She loved classic music and jazz, gardens and art museums, bridge, puzzles, books, math and travel. She never stopped making friends. She is celebrated by her Son Raymond S Horrall with Leni, her Daughters Margaret A Just with Dale, and Dawn H Maloney with Dennis; Grandchildren William R Freeman, Jessica K Bradley with Jared, and Gillian F Maloney with fiancé T Miller Gordon, and Great Grandchild Isla James Bradley. She is interred with her beloved husband at Ft Logan National Cemetery. She is forever in our hearts.
