Keith Doggett Obituary

Keith was born to Bonnie June [Goff] and John Fay Doggett on May 31, 1956 in Boulder, Colorado. He passed peacefully, surrounded by love at his home on October 12, 2018.
He graduated from Centaurus High School in 1974 and completed course work at the School of Mines in Golden. He married Carla Martella on March 22 and then again at St Louis Church on April 19, 1980. Keith lived his entire life in Louisville, Colorado and was a lifelong member of St. Louis Catholic Church and a member of the Louisville Rod and Gun Club.  He worked his entire 44 year career at Dynamic Materials Corporation. Explosive bonding grabbed his attention at 18 and continued throughout his life.

His greatest passions were his faith, family, friends, and fun. Keith and Carla raised their family surrounded by extended family and their church community. Their home was filled with music, laughter and love. Keith always called his grandchildren his icing on the cake. He was never more happier than when he could share with Carlee and George his love of music, fishing and travel. He was looking forward to meeting Royal and increasing his circle.  He loved to garden and went through periods of trying out new crops. Giant pumpkins took over his life for quite a few years as did cultivating the perfect strain of cannabis.  His main question when traveling or planning a vacation was, where was the closest stream, creek, river or lake. His casting arm would get to twitching, and he was in nature’s element whenever he held his fishing rod in his hand.

He was multifaceted in the arts, from stained glass work, painting and sculpting to playing lead and bass guitar, piano and drums. Music played a large part in his life and it was seldom that he didn’t have his guitar in hand daily.

He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Steuble of Louisville and John Doggett of Broomfield, Carla, his wife of 38 years, daughter Shanna Martella and son Seth [Heather], granddaughter Carlee Martella and grandsons, George and Royal Doggett all of Louisville. Keith is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Camps (Tim) of Louisville, Shelley Hill (Terry) of Johnstown, Sandy Saugause (Stan) of Fort Collins and Virginia Doggett of Broomfield, step-brother Charles Steuble (Bonnie) of Broomfield and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Richard Steuble, brother Kenneth Doggett, step sister Becky Hattel and niece Dawn Aguero.
