James Kenneth Gallagher, 67, of Louisville, Colorado died peacefully in his home, surrounded by loved ones, after a battle with cancer.
Jim was born in Queens, N.Y. to the late Arthur & Margaret Gallagher, and raised in East Meadow, N.Y. He attended W. Tresper Clark High School where he excelled in both football & lacrosse.
From an early age, Jim dreamed of being up in the clouds. He attended Colorado Northwestern College in Rangeley, where he earned his pilot’s license and instructor’s certification. He flew for several commuter airlines, including Rocky Mountain Airways. There, he made lifelong friends and was proud to be in the RMA family. After leaving aviation, Jim worked in several other businesses, retiring from the Millennium Harvest House in Boulder, Colorado.
Jim leaves behind Kathi, his wife of 36 years, and was proud father to Patrick (Jeanette), Scott (Suzanna), and Kevin and proud grandfather of 7. He will be missed by his two brothers, Arthur (Jane) & Michael (Donna).
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 22 at 2:00pm in the 1st floor Community Room of the Kestrel Senior Building, 1130 S. Kestrel Lane, Louisville, CO 80027
